Six Nations Tourism Presents Movie Monday: Rhymes for Young Ghouls

Six Nations Tourism will be screening “Rhymes for Young Ghouls” for their October presentation of #MovieMonday!

This riveting drama and revenge story is from director Jeff Barnaby, and premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival in 2013, where is took the prize for Best Canadian First Feature. Please note, this movie is rated R for violence, drug use, language, sexual references and nudity.

Admission is by donation, and refreshments and popcorn are provided.

Movie Summary
“Rhymes for Young Ghouls”  follows Alia, who at 15 becomes the weed princess of Red Crow Mi’g Maq Reservation. Hustling with her Uncle Burner, she sells enough dope to pay the sadistic Indian Agent her “truancy tax”, to keep her out of the local Residential School. But when Aila’s drug money is stolen and her father Joseph returns from prison, the precarious balance of Aila’s world is destroyed. Her only options are to run or fight… and Mi’gMaq don’t run.

Showing will be at the Gathering Place by the Grand, with doors opening at 6:30PM. Arrive early to get the best seat!
