History
The Grand River ‘Champion of Champions’ Pow Wow is an Indigenous multicultural event held annually on the fourth weekend of July by the Six Nations Community. The Grand River Pow Wow promotes our rich arts heritage by showcasing our pride in music, dance, arts and crafts. This event has become a major tourist attraction locally, nationally and internationally and this year promises to be just as spectacular as the last.
Friday Night Entertainment
At 6pm the event will start by welcoming guests, followed by live performances featuring James Wilson, Ascension Harjo, Hatiyo, and Joe Tohonnie Jr. and the Apache Crown Dancers. It is open for everyone to enjoy with FREE admission. Come out and support local and Indigenous talent!
Doors open at 10AM for the Pow Wow on Saturday and Sunday with many activities happening throughout the day including Grand Entry and Dancing & Singing Exhibitions. There will also be lots of food & craft vendors for everyone to enjoy! Experience the excitement of centuries of culture as dancers from across North America compete to become the Champion of Champions.
